it is said that when gorse is not in bloom, kissing has gone out of fashion. the reason for this; there will always be a gorse bush in bloom somewhere in scotland at any given time, so kissing will always be in fashion!
 
that said, between early april and late may is when we are treated to the best displays. it brightens up the countryside with its vibrant yellow colour and is an instant mood changer as we come out of our long, grey winters. for many, its sight in april and may signals the start of summer, and for the golfers amongst us, the start of golf season!
